What we do: Von Design Inc + Vonmod Ltd is an architectural design firm and custom fabrication company dedicated to a revolutionary approach to making your ideas reality. How we do it: Integrating conceptual architectural and product designs into dynamic 3D virtual models that are customized, detailed, priced to fit budgets and sent to precision CNC machine production in our onsite fabrication shop or other local sources. to construction doc So we spent five years developing a really heavy hitting value-based business, which I'll talk about later, and really having these core values that were super essential to our process with our customer and that people began to love and know us for. And then we would make these great relationships with clients. We'd be the first point of contact. We'd carry them all the way through the conceptual development phases, and then we'd Yes, yes, yes, yes. So this is where we're facing n It's Everybody in the circle agree that the construction industry right now is fucked. It is toxic. I'm serious. I know that sounds It's toxic. It is bad. People working inside of the industry, it abuses laborers. It underpays people, overworks them in a community, in an environment that is exploiting, right? You have people who have the ability to be a general contractor kind of running the show, kind of taking that for granted, abusing their people, making all this money, taking fancy vacations and not paying them employees. So over the first five years when we had the job done, we made really powerful relationships with partnering GCs that carried us the first five years, and I would remiss if I said that they weren't part of why we are where we are. We absolutely appreciate their collaboration, but as they became more dependent on our ability to relate to the customer, because that was a core value for us, reliability, approachability, honesty, transparency, they would kind of rely on this for that and just step out of the process. And we found ourselves managing and structuring when we shouldn't have been from a liability perspective and from a cost perspective. Were just straight losing money. Were really managing these outsides and we're not charging for it, because we're not contractors and they're not our employees. So there's only so much we can do to control the quality on site, right? So we would engage with these workers and we'd be on site constantly. We'd oversee our designs, but we could only do so much. And when I evaluated the business after five years, were incredibly successful on the divine end. Were profitable, thriving, growing every single year, and were just losing money every time we got into construction, because we would pay to make it right.
