Since purchasing my home in 2013, my fiancé and I have very much enjoyed restoring older furniture. This has been helpful in being cost efficient, while giving my home a personal touch. We have re-done a dining room table, end tables, coffee tables, chairs, and a desk. Some with the assistance of my parents It is our hope to help others restore their older furniture or items they pick up at resale shops or garage sales.
My name is Phil Trask. I'm a volunteer leader for LA Works and we are here at Tree People Park which is located at Mulholland and Coldwater Canyon and this park is run by Tree People which is an environmental organization focused on environmental issues around Los Angeles. And once a month we have a project up here with them where we bring volunteers to help them maintain the park. It's a 45 acre park that Tree People manages but they get no money from the city for its upkeep so volunteer labor helps them keep up the trails and maintain the trees and make sure it's a beautiful place for people to come and visit. Today we will be doing some trail maintenance spreading some mulch out over the trail so that they're nice and comfortable for all the people and all the dogs that come out to hike. Also be watering and tending to some newly planted trees here in the park to make sure they grow up big and strong. And then we usually have some various other projects to help Tree People maintain the park. We'll see what we do.
