You probably know me from that My fellow celebrities and I have discovered some incredible counties and towns in our neighboring communities that you're sure to want to learn about. Let's take a look. Street in Lyon County, Tattered Treasures in Rock Rapids, Iowa was established in May of 2010 with its first monthly occasional sale. Chana Harmson contacted a few people she knew who had tremendous talent painting and decorating and repurposing to see if they would be interested in doing occasional sales. They were all in and since they were renting a small building, they decided to try a monthly sale. The response was overwhelming. After a year in a small 800 square foot building, they moved across the street to a 2400 square foot building filled with original hardwood floors, tin ceiling, and lots of character that sets the stage for their love for vintage. There are three partners that currently own Tattered Treasures, Helen Bruch, Heather Hodgson, and Chana Harmson. Each of them works individually each month on items for each sale, hunting and gathering, repurposing and painting and bringing all of their treasures together to produce a monthly sale. They will then redesign the store each month with a new layout of all the new treasures that have been brought in, giving the store a fresh new look for every sale. They have always had a love for junking and repurposing. Although they love antiques, they are more of a store where you can take a piece of the past and make it user friendly for today's decorating needs. They stage their inventory so that their customers can see how they could display items in their own homes, taking their love for decorating and combining their love for vintage and repurposing gives the store a unique and one-of-a-kind feel that they hope inspires their customers.
