Affordable Furniture

Hey everybody, welcome to another episode of WTS. That's not like what the, T I just helped my daughter set up her own apartment and so I was we're trying to help her figure out how to create her dream space without breaking the bank. That's what happens when you get a first apartment. You just generally don't have enough money to get all the great furniture that you want to and when you get your first house, certainly you want it to look Many of you do but you need to want to make it c So if you're moving into a house for the first time or you're moving into an apartment, you've got to start out with a budget and that's going to be the most important t So understanding your spending limits and guiding your choices along that way by knowing what your budget is going to be very, very important. So if you've got to do a thousand square foot apartment and you say you have a budget of let'say $2,000, you'll know where you start. Research is going to be so important here because there are so many websites that you can go to buy online stuff. I don't recommend starting that way. What I recommend doing is looking for in your city or in your town where are going to be You may want to go to You want to make sure that you take measurements because a lot of times what looks good in your eye may not fit in the apartment or in the house and that's going to be an important way to start because the quality of what you buy is going to matter but you also have to make sure that obviously it stays wit All of the websites will have sales at various times. Certainly at certain times of the year, furniture can go on more sale or they may change out of stock from one new brand to another one but I'm a big fan here of my next tip w Timing is literally everyt If you want to do the outdoor space, wait till the end of the s January tends to be a great time for getting furniture. I find that you get a lot of great deals at that time but you want to look for places that have their yearly half off sale. Also the Black Friday time of the year, that whole November time can be really, really good to buy furniture as well but I really That tends to be the time into the spring that the outdoor furniture gets more expensive but look for the deals and a lot of times if you go to the back of the store or you ask where the clearance section is, even places Upcycling is another interesting one w There are so many people that buy big homes and then they move and then they go on a Facebook marketplace or another place Now you obviously have to look for stains in the furniture or there may be imperfections in the furniture but a lot of times you can deal with that without dinting your wallet. When I went to CB2 to look at the Crate and Barrel Overstock there were these great sideboards and we found one that normally was about $2,000 that was selling for $500 because on the right hand side in the back it was kind of nicked up Sometimes you can get those deals and then you might even be able to fix it up a little bit yourself and still save lots and lots of different money over time. Thrift stores can also be a great area. Some of you are watc So if you're smart and you go in there you can work and have the ability to negotiate on a price even though the price is advertised online. A great example of t So you may see a rug that's at 20% off that's definitely not the best price. They want to move those rugs. You have a conversation with the owner. You might be able to get it for 40% off because they want to strike deals. Any city that you're in that you're watc I would check them all out and most undoubtedly you can do a room or you can do a whole house on a very effective budget. Try these tips.
