Welcome to Assembling Your Bed, a step-by-step video guide by Francis Lofts & Bucks. Before you begin, please note, the pieces are heavy. We recommend at least two people for assembly. Three will make the job even easier. Be careful when moving parts to avoid damage and do not try to stand or balance any structures without support. Avoid assembling on abrasive flooring to protect your component parts. Start by laying out all your parts where the bed will be placed in your room. Set aside the guardrails, slats, mid-post, gussets, and ladder for now. Check your orange insert for post placement. If you have a full, queen, or king-size model, your short bed rails will include square pockets for slap beams. Twin sizes won't. Next insert shoulder screws into each of the four bed posts using a screwdriver or drill. There are 32 total shoulder screws. Save four for later when we install the mid-post. Now install the threaded studs into the square pockets in each post and one in the short bed rail. The one in the short bed rail could also be in the long bed rail if ladder is on the side. Remember, these use left-handed threads, so turn them counterclockwise. Use the depth gauge to ensure they sit at correct depth. Lay two bed posts on their sides and position two long bed rails between them. Make sure the slat pockets face inward and up. Slide bed rails onto the threaded studs. Using the T-Wrench, slide a gear nut into the hole on the inside of the rail. Align the slot in the nut with the threaded stud and turn clockwise to engage. Only start the threads for now. Don'tighten yet. Repeat steps four and five for the second bed side using the remaining two bed posts. Now stand both assembled halves upright. Join them with one short bed rail. Again insert a gear nut to hold it loosely in place. Make sure all pockets are facing the center of the bed. At t Insert your slat support beam or beams into the square pockets on the short bed rails. Make sure the notched side of the beam faces down. Now add the final short bed rail across the other side and loosely install the gear nuts. Use the rubber mallet as needed to tap everyt Grab your mid post and install the four remaining shoulder screws as before. Slide the mid post into position over the threaded stud and install a gear nut. Only start the threads for now. Do not tighten. Time for guard rails. Fit each guard rail between two posts just above the shoulder screws and tap them into place with your mallet alternating sides. Repeat until all eight are installed. Now go back and tighten all your gear nuts with the T Allen wrench. Each of the eight corners where the bed rails meet posts gets a gusset. Secure them using the included lag screws. T Lay down the slats evenly across the bed, resting them in the slat pockets of the long bed rails. Attach the two ladder mounts to the ladder with the supplied screws. Place the screws through the slots in the metal mounts, then hand screw them into the embedded nuts on the back of the ladder. Leave the screws loose enough so the mounts can be adjusted. Place the ladder into the opening with the mounts over the bed rail. Adjust the ladder so it is flat on the floor and the mounts are properly placed over the bed rail. Finish tightening the mount screws. Before adding your mattress, double check that all fasteners are tight, slats are evenly spaced and the frame feels sturdy. And that's it.
