It is called the Accessory Store, and it is the perfect complement to Stamford's Antique and Design district, and rightfully so, being the second creation of those guys who brought you The Antique & Artisan Center. After starting the whole antiques mecca in Stamford over a. decade ago, owners Mark Candido and Ron Scinto listened day after day to their customers' and decorators' stories of having to run all over to find the things they needed to finish their home decorating and furnishing projects, From these stories came the inspiration to create another unique Store, which now carries the largest and most stylish selection of lampshades in the Northeast.
In an array of furniture stores and accessory stores, what do you the house becomes a home with accessories. It was back in the day when we just had furniture, we had couches, we had bedroom furniture and that sort of t And I remember back when were staging houses. They had parade of homes and stuff We had competition levels with different furniture stores or whatever in town. We would go in and my wife and I would bring it and she would accessorize the house after I put the furniture in it. Were going to our own home and bringing stuff out of the house and putting it in there. Back in the day the only place to go was Pier 1 Imports. There wasn't a lot of accessory stores. And Coffee tables, end tables and lamps. So it was at that point where we realized that we need to go to market and buy accessories. And Ross became an accessory outlet. And that was a changing game changer for the business was to bring the accessories in. And I can remember back when it was the Safari look. So people loved animal print and they loved the look of it. But they didn't know how to accessorize it because it wasn't available. So we started bringing in, I know we had some leather elephants, some giraffes and stuff And people started picking that up because it was an accessory to go along with the Safari look. That's what makes it work. The accessories are just a part of somet It's just You're going to have that pretty jewelry. The accessories are the jewelry to the home.
