I always knew I'd work with my hands. Every job I've had was physical. I enjoyed my work, and never considered making furniture for a living. Things changed when our family moved a few years ago. We needed a new dining table, and when we started looking I had a reaction I have had often. I knew I could build something better myself. I picked up some old barn wood, some rusty antique bolts, some old angle iron, and set out to create our ideal table. My wife loved it, shared some pictures, and before long I had requests for custom furniture from a bunch of people we knew. As I built more pieces, I discovered I had a passion and talent for this. It's an amazing feeling to make some old weathered materials come together into something unique, beautiful and useful for someone's home. I finally took the advice of my family and opened an Etsy shop. Some of my pieces are rustic. Some are industrial. Others are more modern. Every piece has it's own unique history with meaningful, found and reclaimed materials from my home town in the northwest. Every piece is unique, unlike what you'll find in a furniture store. I love history, and have a deep respect for the craftsmanship of past generations. You can see it in my work- even the modern pieces. My products look good, but they're also designed to be used. They're sturdy and strong like the long-lasting materials that inspire my projects. It's my hope that they'll be with you and your family for generations as a part of your home and your traditions. Everyone deserves what we have when we sit down for a Sunday dinner at the very first table I built. I'm proud each time a customer puts their keys down on an entry table I built, hangs their coat on a coat rack I built, sits on a bench or chair I built, carefully places their favorite books and movies on an entertainment center I built, or sets their glass on an end or coffee table I built. Lately, I only do work I feel strongly about. A few years back I developed a progressive illness that has led to severe pain, particularly in my hands. As the illness progressed I was advised to stop working all together, but I'm still in my 30s and the drive to be useful and to create is too strong. I decided not to hire an assistant. I work best alone, creating and problem-solving. I'm working part time on the days my body allows, and everything in the store is built 100% by me. I've got some great pieces. I'm also glad to create something unique for you if you'd like to work together on a design. Being useful is important to me. That's why I'll customize any piece to suit your home. Thanks for checking out my store, and reading my story.

No, you remember the birch that was here, that beautiful tree? We fenced it to protect it. So we have our arborist, Eric Rinche, here to give us a hand with a birch tree. Hey, Eric. How are you? All right, nice job on that Norway maple. Thank you. And so what have you got planned for the birch? Well, today we're going to clear out the understory and some of the sucker growth, show off that exfoliating bark that the birches are known for. It's a good focal point of the landscape. We're going to cut the tree off the house. You can see that's a So we're going to cut that back. And then we notice that we got two co-dominant stems here. So we're going to install a support cable for the heavy winter snow load to prevent the tree from splitting. We'll go up about two-t Cool. All right, well, let'save t Absolutely. We're going to drill through the entire leader. At that point, we're going to install t And that's going to be our anchoring system for our cable system. We're going to use t And we're going to attach that to our rod with t All right, guys, wrapping up here. We just put that cable in. That looks good. Got the tree pruned off the house. Took out a lot of the understory down here. T What do you t We'll get another 35, 40 years out of it. Let's hope that'll be great. I mean, look at the sucker's gone. You can see the bark. It already looks terrific. Eric, thanks a lot. The junior guy did a great job. Thank you. Thank you. We got a beautiful looking tree.
