How to make custom interior panels by David J. Geiden. These panels are good for anyt You've seen the engine bay that I've done as well. I wouldn't suggest taking a break from armoring for a little bit to show I hope you guys If you I started out by doing everything in paper, just I just have it marked off basically the design that I want to make. The backside is the same as you would write on a dry erase marker board at school or whatever. It's basically waterproof from the back, w Here you can see I'marking out some spots where I need to make sure that it will lay flat against the door. I have to cut out some of the pieces here. Now I'm building up with foam board to make this thing a bit more three dimensional and not so flat Here I am fitting it in the car making sure everyt It doesn't interfere with any of the existing car parts. I should also note that the way these are held onto the car is I have some very small bolts that are embedded in the back of these parts and they're held still with fiberglass and then there are corresponding holes in the door w Here's the under dash panel. T It's a little bit stiffer and harder than the rest of the stuff. I'm just fitting it against the car making sure it fits everyt For these panels I had to put some foam inside of it and carve it down in order for the fleece to work properly later on. All of the other panels you see here, t You can see they all are starting to have a three dimensional look. Just ignore the pattern there. It's just whatever fleece I could find. If you see my other dash panel tutorial you'll see the same exact process. I'm just brus I strongly suggest doing t You definitely want to put them on the car and then do the fiberglass resin. Of course there's going to be some repairs to make and stuff. I use just short strand fiberglass putty. Basically the same as Bondo but it's got fiberglass reinforcement strands inside of it. It actually strengthens the parts quite a bit too so very important part to do. Again we're going to be doing these parts on the car otherwise they're not going to fit when you try to put them in the car. I would leave t Here I'm trying to line up the parts to make sure that when the door is shut the parts line up properly. I do the body work at that point instead off the car to make sure they made up very well later on. Here I've done the finis You can see some of the parts are already finished there. The only thing I didn'teach you how to do I would have showed you but I lost the pictures for that part. Sorry. I Very modern interior. I And if you So come check that out.
