History Established in 2000 In 1998, while in the process of a major remodel of their house, Tom and Tarey Gerardy came to realize that there was no outlet in the San Diego area that specialized in the Craftsman or Arts and Crafts style. Many trips were made to the Pasadena area for inspiration as well as to find the items they wanted for their new Craftsman style home. Recognizing that there was a "revival" of interest in the Craftsman style, first popularized in the early 1900s during the Arts and Crafts Movement, the Gerardys decided that the San Diego area needed a store that specialized in that style. And hence, Craftsman Revival was born. Since opening day in October of 2000, Craftsman Revival has expanded it's showroom to over 4,000 square feet and continues to be San Diego County's only complete source for Craftsman style home furnishings.
Hey, what's going on everybody Alex here with freedom mowers. I hope you all are doing well We are gonna be working on a craftsman riding mower that I got last year that had a blown engine It had already been taken off and it was not repairable So I have a donor tractor here that we are gonna be taking the engine off from as well as the Replacing the carburetor. I had a hyper reach out to me and they knew they wanted to know what projects I was working on So I told them what we had and they sent over a carburetor So I'm gonna show you guys the tractor we've got and we are gonna check out the donor machine and do our best to get This thing up and going I have a customer that's waiting on this machine So I'm gonna have to kind of cruise through this might leave out a few details that we normally go over But our future videos will be just So let's j Let's get t I believe t I think this is a 2012 so you guys the n I've got a bag of parts. I've got to go get they came with this originally but Guy basically had just started yanking stuff off from here and I think we're left with a pretty good show to work with This thing has been sitting since I do really So let's go check out the donor tractor Alright, and t 5 in tech. So t I Did hear this run It was surgeon like crazy and it's been sitting for about a month and a half to two months But we'll go ahead and put the j I'll show All right. Well, I've got the Poulon pulled into the shop We're gonna go ahead and start on getting everyt These are very simple on it So we've got the fuel line w So that's loose It's got a Z-band on the end. So come out and out with it and We've got this little vacu So let's j All right. We've got that T Let me grab that So we'll just have the rest of the muffler that comes off t It's the biggest one I've got on here These already don't feel that tight Get that one loose Just be easy not to get crazy on them or spray them with some penetrating spray And just real quick. I got the bolt off from there. I just want to show y'all how t Let's get it up and get the rest of the bolts out Right and we are up in the air got it on the lift See if I can squeeze under here with y'all so we have a 5 8 on the main pulley. I'll get that off and then we just have Four bolts. There's two up here in the front and then they're hard to see but they are Get y'all in position. I don't All right, and we should be able to pull it off I had to pull these two 10 millimeter Nuts they were for the I guess hold the gas tank and this air diverter But the pulley on the bottom side was still a little hung up So I'm gonna basically try to pick up on this to separate the pulley on the bottom from the engine and get this all off in one swoop, so we should be all set to just pull this up now And there we go All right now that we've got the engine off I did go ahead and grab that bag of parts that I had and I'm sure T I Will show 5 and Would you look at that 540 cc 21 so both the same cc? There is a size difference now on the Deck belt pulley those are the same size, but on the actual drive pulley There is probably About an inch difference probably half inch on each side, but an inch difference On the drive pulley so we're gonna have to use the drive pulley for or use t I'll take the hood off We're gonna get t I did just drop the tank out It's two 10 millimeter bolts. This one does have a fuel shutoff valve on it And I'll go ahead and just empty out all the fuel and get it dry with some shop rags What I would I t All right. Well, I've got the engine bay cleaned up here Got some degreaser sprayed it all down and then I got the tank cleaned up These tanks always seem to have these dark spots in it, but I did the best I could and it is totally clean and dry on the inside now so we've got a Fresh start when we put our new carburetor on Let'see so at this point I would So Basically to take this mowing deck off, you're gonna have to take the front bar off then you have That pin right there and then that arm drops down you have that pin right there Then they'd unhooks Basically, you can leave the whole rod right on the mower you have the Cable the blade engagement cable there should be a pin right on the backside of that silver 90 degree bracket Take that out and then you can pull the cable outward and there is a spring that hooks on to the tensioner And once you've got that's pretty much all done on this side And then you just have that pin in that middle bracket on the other side and we can slide it right out So I'm gonna get that knocked out and I'll show I took a look at it yesterday And everything seems to be in really good shape on here the condition of the mowing deck looks really good I don't see any visual holes or anything So I t It's kind of crazy almost everything on this machine looks to be in I've got the pulley mounted up Just have to make sure that your belt goes into the guides. You'll see it right underneath and The best way to do that is just having that parking brake set It lets the tension off and then you can just slide it right on pulley goes right on to the engine where the Notches and the crankshaft so we are good there Everyt I'm dropping the mac We just have the other Two bolts to get out. I'll finish getting these out real quick And then our upper cover trying to do this one-handed Upper cover comes right off That's pretty much it so let me get you guys set up and I'll get the tools out we can get this carb removed I'll show you guys the new one and We are making good leeway here All right, and Also. I've got videos on Replacement carburetors and other parts from them as well, and I have had very good luck with them. So on this particular Engine the engine serial n So let me get the tools out and we'll get there is a breather that goes on the back side. Take your anti backfire Wires off from there, and then we are left with two five sixteenth studs And take those right off So got these two come off and Then you can pull your choke lever out. T We will go ahead and grab our new one We'll go ahead and put the spring wire on Get our Cable in there Go to the outermost hole Set that in place and then that goes right in t I'm just gonna kind of tighten these up just slightly With the impact and then I'm gonna Hand drive those in With a quarter inch You just want to snug these up. You're going into a plastic intake tube So you don't want to go crazy and strip them or break the intake So I got to take t It's pretty simple All right, I got that tightened up I did add a fuel filter in So everyt We can kind of move along with the rest of the Engine install. So what we're going to have to do Is get t I'm going to leave it a little bit loose So that we can kind of check to see where our throttle is Basically, we want our choke to engage right when it'supposed to and it'll kind of get us in the right spot So that's full throttle And that's choke engagement So off and back So I t I'll snug it up a little more and double check Full throttle choke All right, everything looks good there so You can go ahead and just make sure that's all the way snug Not too tight though where you crush the I'll show you all what we got to do So all we've got to do over here on t I'll snug all t Well, I've got everyt I did put a little bit of fuel in the tank We're gonna go ahead and open t We'll let the carburetor fill I did put the shroud from the 21 on here I will disclose to the buyer that the engine has been changed on here. I have the j So I got to keep the j So let me see if I can Possibly move the j I'm just going to leave you all right here So That's a win right there The transmission feels nice and smooth. I did forget to mention I did check the oil on t It's a little bit above The lower side, but it definitely needs to be changed So what I'll probably go ahead and do is let these ones are real easy. Just has that We're doing good We will have to check to make sure that the charging system is working on here And I t So I'm going to go ahead and get that washed off and blown off and then As soon as I'm done with the oil change then we can go ahead and get that remounted And give this thing a test So All right Seems I t I've got to just mount the gas tank I'll get the hood back on We will test the charging system. I need to do that still And then we can do all the cleaning grease the front end level the deck And I t Well, I basically got the mac I'll show All right. So here it is I did Go ahead and do the normal buffing on here And hit the machine with some automatic transmission fluid So we've got a new battery. I tested t So that is perfect I did go ahead and level the deck on here And to level it you only have t So that's about perfect We're going to test all that out. We have done the oil change on here I believe on this machine I'll double check but Yeah, let me know what you guys think turned out to be pretty nice machine I am going to glue down the seat I'm a hop on here. We'll do some cutting and then we'll finish it up So All right, well, I t I appreciate I just got a few things to finish up And We're gonna have some good content coming up I will be getting back in the game with making videos. I know I'm a little bit be Let the small engine sing. I'll see you all next time
