Michael explains, the increasing presence of the homeless population has made the area less inviting for visitors. His approach is to remain civil and foster mutual respect, ensuring the shop remains a welcoming space for all. For Michael, longevity itself is a badge of honor. He says, many businesses come and go, but we've managed to keep going. With annual revenues fluctuating around $200,000, Fairlake Antiques continues to thrive, drawing foot traffic from tourists exploring Pioneer Square and customers met at antique shows across the country. Looking ahead, Michael has no plans to retire anytime soon. He shares, I'll stay put where I am until I'm physically unable. His focus remains on maintaining the shop's charm and continuing to serve the community of collectors who value his expertise and curated inventory.
