CLARKFunctionalArt creates works of functional art from ancient fallen trees and reclaimed woods.
Ancient and contemporary home furnishings are created from solid exotic woods. A technique called Book-matching is used where the wood grain and burl is cut in such a manner that when joined in the middle form a mirror of each other. The wood is then joined using “butterfly” joinery of bronze, brass, stainless steel, and other exotic woods to enhance beauty and add strength. Bronze, Brass, and Stainless steel custom sculptured table bases are designed, machined, and assembled on site. Master-craftsman finish brings out brilliance and fire of the wood.
I really enjoyed what I did but I had done it for a while and I wanted to just do something completely new and kind of reinvent myself.
