Best Redwood

Are more expensive RVs really better quality or is it marketing hype? The first RV we're going to look at today is a 2024 Redwood brand 4120 GK 5th wheel. We're going to contrast t Cope Pinnacle 5th wheel. The Redwood is going for about $120,000 versus the J. Cope Pinnacle w So is the Redwood worth an extra $30,000? Do you get more quality if you pay more money? They both have Coleman air conditioners w I give them 7 out of 10 points. Despite the price gap in these, they actually have very similar quality cabinets. Many RV manufacturers try to save money by instead of making their cabinet face frames out of solid wood, they make it out of something called l Even though the J. Cope is $30,000 less than the Redwood, it still has solid wood cabinet face frames and solid hardwood doors. These are really On the Redwood, I found that even though it has The good news is because crown molding is up high, it's not I give the cabinets on both the Redwood and J. Cope 10 out of 10 points. Another t I give the solid surface counters in both of these RVs 10 out of 10 points. Both of these RVs have a membrane type roof w I consider it quality but keep in mind if they were installed incorrectly at the factory, a bubble up on the roof can actually result in the whole roof getting ripped off of the RV. Roof bubbles are one of the t So here's a slight difference. Both have what I would consider a These are both quality but the features are going to matter depending on how you plan to camp. If you're off-grid camping you really want the tank type water heater. Tank less water heaters don't allow you to conserve water but if you're always plugged in at an RV park with full hookups, the tank less water heater gives you endless hot showers. Another t I would give the residential type 10 out of 10 points. Let's talk about the slide systems on these RVs. The Redwood has a standard through frame electrically actuated slide for the main slides. The bedroom though has a Schwintech w One of the problems with Schwintech is that it can be installed incorrectly at the factory. There's a quick and easy test you can do to see if it was installed correctly. Call it the V-shaped roller test. I give the slide out systems overall six out of ten points. Next let's talk about the suspension on these two RVs. The Jaco Pinnacle has somet They've actually created a custom brace that goes from one equalizer to the other in between the wheels. T Mooride has what's called an X-Factor brace to add on to do the same job as t Now to be clear I t So once again even though this is a cheaper RV than the Redwood, I Next let's talk about the pl Redwood actually did a really good job. Folks if there's a brand that is telling you that they have to put these flexible hoses incorrectly, no you don't. Look at t Anywhere they need a flexible hose they use a correct flexible hose pre-made assembly. So did Jaco pl Unfortunately there are many improper connections in t I'll link a video at the end of this with a more detailed explanation of this pl The short version of the problem is they use flexible tubing, cut it to length and attach it to a fitting that's not designed for flexible tubing. T I have to give the Jaco pinnacle zero points in pl The last category is fit and finish and the Redwood only had a minor issue so I give it nine out of ten points. The Jaco looked really good on the inside but on the outside I noticed one of the leveling jacks was just missing a foot. It's really easy for them to sell t When you don't have a foot on the jack it just stabs itself in the ground, it can't actually lift the RV or level it. If you get a third-party inspection they will catch issues I'm giving the fit and finish on t As long as you catch it. The final score on they didn't pick the best lightouts but they have good cabinets and good please I've become so infamous at RV dealers Now compare t Unfortunately because I had to take 10 points off in the pl I can't overstate the importance of having good pl So the natural question all of my clients have is okay well can't I just buy the cheaper RV and have it repl Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't.
