The Silver Palate Cookbook is not just for home cooks, but it's for people that want to learn how to cook also. There'so much information in this book. There's over 350 recipes. A lot of them are really simple and then there's also recipes that call for more expensive or finer ingredients such as caviar and maybe they're a little more time-cons The book talks about the Silver Palate, the story of it. There used to be a store in New York and catering company and so these are a lot of the recipes. I love the variety in this cookbook from appetizers to Italian food to soup to desserts to even making bread. This book was published in the 1980s. Some of the recipes call for ingredients Some of those I just substitute out. It's important to note that this cookbook does make a large portion. So if you're serving a lot of people, this is a great cookbook for that.
