Police say he's first approached as he walks through the parking lot on his way inside the store by these two men wearing gorilla face masks. Weitner manages to avoid them and goes inside. Well inside the complainant reports the individuals as suspicious to target personnel and those individuals. The suspects remain near the front entrance. Police say target security alerted an off duty Dallas police officer who works that location regularly and they went together to confront the men outside. The men were asked to leave the property. One is seen appearing to walk away. But as Weitner walked to his car a short time later, the men were there to verbally threaten him, then beat him with a wooden rod. Police say it's possible, but unclear if the suspects witnessed Weitner report them to security or what the motive may have been. While he was verbally attacked, investigators say there's no evidence of a hate crime and nothing was stolen.
