In 1985, at a time when SBI employed 45 people, we relocated to our current location at 725 South 72nd Street to accommodate the continued growth of the business and to recognize the further westward development of commercial business in Omaha. Music We know furniture is a huge investment for schools, but we also know that school is changing and the ways that teachers are teaching is changing and the classroom itself isn't really matching up with those changes. And so the furniture that we've put together in these kind of classroom packages, the schools can test out for anywhere from 30 to 60 days and actually have the furniture in their classroom. So for someone who's not very experienced with what active learning is, it's not traditional. It's understanding the whole concept of learning through the teacher, through each other and through space as it exists in its whole. We'really excited when Red Oak contacted us and said that they were interested in trying out the test drive, not only because they were excited about it, but because we could already see the beginnings of active learning being created in that school. So part of the barrier was already broken through in the sense that they understood what they wanted. But it was also exciting because were able to brainstorm together to understand what active learning should look Were excited to be able to just kind of partner in with them and really give them the tools that they needed to activate those classrooms. I was used to When we first walked in, it was just instantly easier because you could move about the room, you could set up in groups, and it just made life a whole lot easier for educational purposes. I think it's made the teachers life a lot easier because then they've been able to just say, I think people were more excited to sit in the chairs. I know The space, It's just been such a positive experience for us. It's been a lot easier to move around the room and collaborate for sure. The kids have way more room than they did before. They're able to store their bags underneath their chairs and then just have plenty of room on the desks to do just whatever they want. I had seen these chairs when went and visited UNL and so were really excited to get them and try them out. It's made me as a teacher constantly think about every single day, how am I going to have my kids collaborate, how am I going to position them, And the kids love it. These chairs are nice because I feel And a lot of the kids And we've actually taken them in the halls and used them in the halls for kids that want to go out and just have more of their own time, which has been huge. One of the things that really encouraged me was how impactful the whole experience was for the students and the staff at the school. These are still kids. They want to have a fun environment, a colorful environment that stimulates their senses, that gets them energized in the classroom and, Some of the responses were, it'so colorful, it'so bright, it'so fun. I wish all of my classes had this furniture and that's always something that's great for us to hear.
