Okay, you see the doors to St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Oakland by the Claremont Hotel. What I'm doing here right now is removing the old finish on this surface. A lot of it, as you can see, is oxidized. And before I had mentioned where the UV sunlight will turn it from the rich red mahogany to the far right, and to the left there you can see how it's just oxidized and bleached. It's a fugitive color. The sun just turns it from red to brown to yellow to almost Now, one of the major problems where a lot of doors fail is the joints. And when you have a raised panel It'supposed to be floating for expansion and contraction of the wood to temperature changing. So a lot of times they'll fail there.
