Target Store Niles

We're going to get back to Black Friday for a moment. This is a different angle on the whole thing, though, as we have protests apparently over target stores being closed out in Chicago. So with that story, Fox News correspondent Mike Tobin joins us. What's going on, Mike? Well, Connell, while everybody's out spending money, a group of demonstrators here in Chicago are asking people not to spend money at target stores, led by Congressman Bobby Rush. Their gripe is that target is closing two stores, and Chicago's troubled, violent, predominantly African-American Southside, while opening two stores in the predominantly white and affluent Logan Square and Rogers Park. So after 17 years of operation here on the Southside, the Congressman says this is going to leave a gaping hole in the community here. So he's asking people to put some pressure on the retailer by pledging to spend not another cent. Cons They completely violates the trust that cons Now, the Target company said of the demonstrators, we respect their right to express their disappointment today. Going forward, we're focused on working with community leaders to ensure these properties are redeveloped in a way that will make a positive impact. Target also says they will preserve the jobs by transferring employees to other locations. However, Gary Chico, one of the many candidates running for mayor in Chicago, says it's not just these jobs. It's all the jobs around this strip mall and, frankly, in the neighborhood here that depend on the big draw and all the traffic you get from the big anchor store. Connell? Interesting.
