After five years working in such diverse fields as dry stone walling, hardwood floor refinishing, masonry restoration, historic moulding reproduction, traditional Norwegian log building, and others, Patrick started Matchless Carpentry and Restoration, a contracting company with an emphasis on the preservation and restoration of historic structures. Patrick studied architecture at the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee and completed his AAS Historic Preservation degree from the Colorado Mountain College in the spring of 2009. In 2010 Patrick put together a small wood shop in his garage with a collection of basic tools and a library of fine woodworking books and began his foray into fine joinery and furniture building. Since then his work space and collection of machines has grown exponentially and when he's not restoring windows in an 1850's home, he's spending every free moment honing his skills in the shop. His collection of tools spans from late 1700's chisels, 1800's hand planes, and a 1940's Delta drill press and bandsaw, to modern electronic angle gauges and digital machinist calipers.
