Value City Furniture

You've probably heard of value city furniture. Well, you may not have heard that their parent company has just filed bankruptcy and is closing a n Rick and Jen Hausner recently ordered a couch from Value City furniture, hoping to have it in their Union Kentucky home by Christmas. At the beginning of December, we started to kind of wonder where the furniture was. But a call from the store dashed their hopes. Their $1,900 order was not coming and the store would not refund their money. She said, well, unfortunately, we can't deal with refund here at the store. You have to go online. What the Hausners didn't know at the time was that Value City furniture is now in bankruptcy, closing its East Gate and Centerville, Ohio stores. But the Springdale and Florence store remained open and Jen says no one ever told them the store was in trouble. If you buy furniture from them, are other customers going to get called in a couple weeks that they're not getting it and they're still taking people's money? Four other families have now contacted WCPO saying they also have no furniture and no money among them, Kyle Robinson. So they have $2,200 of your money? Correct. Rick Hausner went online to file a claim but soon realized he was dealing with the bankruptcy supervisor, not the store. At that point, I was We've called an emailed Value City's parent company, American Signature, but received only a fact sheet saying gift cards will no longer work after December 22nd. All sales are final and no refunds of an item is no longer available. Kyle and the Hausners are now filing disputes with their credit cards hoping to reverse the charges. We've lost almost $2,000. It's definitely a struggle.
