By putting cool comfort layers on top, you can actually get a dialed-in comfort for the way you get to sleep. If you sleep on your back most nights, you may still be most comfortable on a mattress that feels hard to the touch. But if you sleep on your side, or stomach, or toss and turn from night to night, you'll probably be more comfortable with a mattress with the plush or pillow top style.
