It started with DOWNTOWN FURNITURE and BOOK EXCHANGE in 1976 by a small town businessman with a huge and dynamic vision!! Charles & Viv Pedigo, entrepreneurs by heart, opened the doors with the help of their two sons Stewart and Steve Pedigo. After a rocky start the team began to grow and business was a success. In 1987 Steve decided that he too possessed the entrepreneur spirit and moved his family to McComb, MS to open ROCK BOTTOM FURNITURE & WATERBEDS. With help from his Dad and Brother both stores were rocking on. In 2001 Charles and Viv retired and decided to "go on vacation". After a short discussion and a huge decision Stewart and Steph Pedigo decided to, once again, hold to the family tradition. The opening of the FURNITURE EXCHANGE took place. After close to ten years of success Stewart and Steph wanted nothing more than to "go fishing". So was the city of Hammond, for the first time in 35 years, without a used furniture store in that location? Steves son Aaron Pedigo grew up in ROCK BOTTOM FURNITURE & WATERBEDS from the age of two. With a lifetime of experience and a supportive family the move was made. The opening of ROCK BOTTOM FURNITURE - HAMMOND was in clear sight!!!
