The Nest Egg

The nest egg is a massive fault dedicated to storing and guarding the tools and treasures of mysterious beings in a place known as the membrane. These items can vary in power and purpose, but they can all have a place within the nest egg's walls, for the right price of course. Everything here runs All processes run as smoothly as possible, all records are organised, surveillance is optim Still, having so many valuables in one place does catch the eye of many thieves, but robbing this place would usually be considered a fool's errand. They would first have to gain access to the nest egg, a floating fortress surrounded by thundering clouds and stormy waters, and then have to navigate the confusing, dangerous corridors inside, most areas being virtually inaccessible by an intruder. They would also have to evade the Securer, the nest egg's personal security guard, and their own flock of loyal, sharply-talented helpers. No thief has ever accomplished this task, apart from one. This particular thief seems to always have a solid heist plan, breaking into the nest egg many times to search the vaults and narrowly escaping the Securer's clutches. However, one day their concrete plan goes wrong and the thief is captured, finding themselves in front of the being that every trespasser dreads to come face to face with, the boss of the nest egg. Having been rendered powerless, the thief's only option to avoid certain doom is to make a deal with the boss, signing a contract to become a nest egg employee and never being able to steal from it again. Now working there, the once-thief will have to navigate the endless trials and challenges of the nest egg, meeting the other employees who don't offer the warmest welcome to the one who's been damaging their now fragile reputation, along with having to clean up the trail of destruction they left in their path on n There's also the matter of dealing with the items placed in a nest egg's care by the entities of the membrane, as each one will require a unique type of vault to house it in, not only as protection against thieves, but also to keep any dangers locked within. While this thief succeed in their strange new role and regain their powers, or will they crack under the pressure? The nest egg is an idea I had when wanting to practice my concept art and thought about designing a vault type location framed around a specific theme. It'since then become a proper little story project I want to develop for my portfolio.
