On any given day, you can find local artists and those looking to become artists honing their skills here at the Edmund Fine Arts Institute. The local non-profit focuses on keeping the arts alive for those of all ages. We have adults all the way up to 93 years old that come and take art classes. Starting with kids as young as three, there are classes for all levels. It's basically letting go of an emotion that you have within yourself. Ryan Williams is a local artist who teaches classes. On this day, various medi I kind of guide them and critique their work and give them a pass to go by. While Ryan works with students inside the classroom, the halls just outside are lined with art created by another local artist. We love to feature local emerging artists and so every month we have a different artist that's on display here. Every space here can be used as a classroom. For instance, this outdoor courtyard is where some of the youngest artists come to make these teepees or do other camps that are offered year-round. Everything from basic drawing, painting, mixed media, sculpture, and we have a lot of pottery classes. We do jewelry making classes. They also focus on performing arts, offering acting classes and performances for children. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was one of the more recent productions featuring all young actors. They perform in a small theater before a small audience, giving them a chance to build confidence. Our target is to have children become appreciative of live performances.
