Urban Timber Cincinnati

Urban Timber is a company we started out of our passion for woodworking along with the environment and being able to utilize trees that would otherwise go to waste. We source local trees from the city and basically repurpose them or upcycle them into fine furniture. We're able to take those trees, saw them, upcycle them into slabs that are available for rough form but all the way to finished form as well, delivered to your home. These logs from the time they're cut down, brought to us and taken back probably haven'traveled 50 miles. Actually these trees grew in the city that I grew before I was here and then being able to give that back to somebody is kind of And yeah, it's kind of awesome. It really is. I fell in love with wood early on in life, I'd say probably 16, 17 years old. And then seeing the grain that you get in, that you can get in wood, not your typical one buys that you buy from the big box store. With the boring straight grain, all your cabinets are made out of. When I saw And I think that's when I really fell in love with wood. I couldn't believe that was the material it was. Some of our favorite stories or pieces we get to build are, hey, I saw a tree getting cut down my street and the guy said it's going to come to you. Can we buy a table from you? And it's And then when we get to bring that to them two years later, it's awesome. And I say that from a personal level too because a tree that grew on my parents, previously my grandparents' property was one of the first trees I sawed with Tyler and is now my family dining table at my parents' house. So we get to gather around that, So a large percentage of the wood that we get actually comes from within the 270 loop. Everything's made right here. Jason Timber is a three guys that one college friend of mine, another that I met up at the Woodcraft store and we kind of came friends through that. We just had this idea of you have a sawmill, there's a bunch of trees going to waste and people want furniture. So let's give it a go. And that was three years ago. Yeah. And it's just, it's awesome being able to come to work, do something you love with people you love and feel
