The MLB officially banned sticky substances for pitchers recently and have been cracking down on pitchers who use them. Max Scherzer was checked three times in one game earlier this week and he voiced his concerns with the media post game. Yeah, that pitch specifically is the pitch I fear the most. I don't want to throw that pitch. I do not want to, I do never want to throw a ball near somebody's head and tonight the ball did. Ball, obviously, was trying to, Thank God it did not hit him in the face. I don't ever want to put a fastball in somebody's face but we almost had that tonight. I'll slip down I am. Scherzer, who has had lots of success over the years in the MLB, was checked twice by then Joe Girardi requested he be checked a third time in the game. These controversial checks and stoppages in play have the sports world buzzing. Listen, the bottom line is, I'll go with you and then I'll come back after you say what you have to say but you can go a bit too far and I think that last night was a perfect example. I'm going to say this Max. I think Girardi should be ashamed of himself. There are many different opinions around the league on this but according to Scherzer and other pitchers who have commented such as Clayton Kershaw and Sergio Romo, this not only slows down the game but also puts batters at potential risk of injury if all sticky stuff is banned.
