It's no secret that organic modern has taken over in the design world over the past three years. But the question that I'm asking today is it finally out and is it time to look at other new trends that are coming out. Now when decor trends become popular, they become popular for a reason that's because they're extremely beautiful. I guess it's beautiful, but it's not somet Now of course not all decor needs to be necessary and totally functional. Sometimes the function is just that it looks beautiful and it's nice to look at. However, you need to ask yourself why you're actually buying these trends in the first place. Is it just because you saw a little mood board on Pinterest and you want to have it in your home or is it because it's actually somet Now these are items that I promise you'll be selling at a garage sale within the next couple of years, especially those beaded like little, It's not even, it's I don't even want to tell you what that reminds me of to be honest with you, but that's not somet Like a lot of times you'll see it on top of a book or, It kind of has I mean before they were used because people didn't really have doorbells so you could just bang it out of the wind chimes, but now it's like, So there's really no need to have wind c And I suggest having it off of any vignette that you do because it really will make your home look Now let's talk about what organic modern is at the core and organic modern is really just admiring the imperfections in nature, having organic materials in your home such as beautiful woods, stones and textures through nice fabric. Organic modern also really embodies organic shapes as well. So that's why you'll see a lot of organic modern furniture have curves, soft edges, not so many sharp edges, something Now the first do is to really invest into the actual organic materials that we're discussing and that's going to be stone, wood, brass, real metals, real fabrics, real linens. And that's what I love most about organic modern is it finally brought quality back into the home decor space. And because so many retailers are fighting and competing for your business, a lot of them now are being forced to actually bring in quality pieces at an approachable price. So I do t I t I don't know, I'll rewind it if she was going so fast. But Having a marble tray for your keys to go into. Having a nice clay or stone vase. There'so many beautiful textures that you get to take advantage of when you're investing into the organic modern style, w The next don't buy the organic modern book starter pack, which is Don't be so basic. Don't have the same books that everyone has in their home. I'm not going to really tell you So it doesn't really make sense for me to tell you to buy books that you read because then I'd be a hypocrite. But at least act like you maybe read those books, Everyone can appreciate art. Have a really nice, beautiful art book, And that way somet You have a little gaming set, a little chess set. I've seen that. That looks pretty cool. So, T Do not go for any kind of Tom Ford or Coco Chanel or Louis Vuitton because I promise you it's not cool. I promise you it's actually really basic and it's just kind of It's making you look, It's making you look It'somet I've never seen an arc But So correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't recommend that you actually decorate with any of these. Where to go instead? Where do you get your books instead? Go to vintage stores. I went to one of the Goodwill stores and they had They were a dollar each and they had the covers on them, but a little life hack that I do is I just take the covers off and you get this really cool But hey, whatever. So we all make mistakes, including myself. So maybe read the titles before you put them there, but at least it does look pretty cool. You get this Not stuff. I t It's kind of I know when I was growing up tryhard was like a huge term, but anyways, it just comes off as really tryhardy when you have, It just seems I don't know if that makes any sense, but I gotta take a picture of t My dog is I'm sorry, but these dogs, if you don't know, drive me absolutely crazy when I'making videos. They either snore or they tic-tac on the floor with their nails or they just do really cute stuff Now before I get into do n It truly means a lot to me and there will be plenty more where that came from. Now without any further interruption, let's get into the next do, w I'm not saying there isn't a time and a place for those things, but instead of having a bunch of random things, You can actually buy that and decorate that in your home and that way, Now also, I know I just kind of talk smack about Hobby Lobby, but they have their own pottery sets that you can actually buy. I've actually made a video of t Every other week they run a 50% off sale. I don't know if I'm supposed to be sharing t I promise you when you start investing into this look, then you'll start to have a taste for something a little bit more unique and then you'll probably start going for But t So not sponsored, but Hobby Lobby is a pretty good place to buy. Also little bonus tip, avoid buying stuff that's overly small and overly tiny. I know the small price tag can be very appealing, but spend a little bit more as I've said in other videos instead of buying small decor items, buy larger pots. So I'd rather spend $50 one pot than, Now, don't n Don't fall into the trap of being only in neutrals. I've seen so many times people have their home styled as an organic, modern home, but the entire thing is Well, you don't have to follow the assignment too much, right? You want to have a little bit of room for creativity here. Have some pattern, have some additional color. You want to have some richness, some variation in color, variation in tones, variation in shade. I actually styled a home earlier t It was a cream and burgundy marble and it was absolutely so gorgeous. And I believe I have the link for it. So I'll plug it down below if you're interested in it. T You don't have to just be prisoned by the trend and just having to follow it a hundred percent. So that way, even if the trend passes by, at least you still added your own personality to it, stepped outside the box.
