Well, hello there, and welcome to a beer tasting with the old grower. I'm Pete LaFrance, and today we're going to be sampling something I know you'll be especially interested in. Let's get started. And this time, what do we have? We have for meeting expectations a Urban South Oktoberfest, Martson Lager. There we go from Louisiana, from New Orleans, Louisiana. This is from Urban South Brewing Company, and it was packaged, it was canned, on September 20th of this year. So it's a relatively new beer. As you can see, we're getting into the cooler months. I've got my explorer hat on, and my jacket, rather than just being in short sleeves. So we're going to have some hefty beers, I'm certainly hoping. All right, well, we know what an Oktoberfest is. It's a bright amber beer, relatively high in, Let'see if it says anything on that. Yes, it is. 6. 5%. And it's a Martson Lager. So we're expecting not too much of a hop aroma on this one. If I remember the beers that I had in Munich back in 1988 at the Oktoberfest then, they were relatively, they had a little sweet tang, a little sweetness to it. So what are we hoping for? Well, from the looks of this, it's going to be a traditional Oktoberfest, Martson. It's going to be a bright copper color, and it should be very malty and not too hoppy. Let'see if Urban South's Oktoberfest can meet expectations. In the past, we've been using a wine glass so that every beer has even playing field as far as getting aromas, aromatics, and getting flavors out of it. Well, my friend Jerry Scott has gifted me with a beer tasting glass, so we're going to be using these from now on. Alright, here we go. A little sloppy on the pour. Alright, yes sir, that is a nice bright copper color. It has a great head to it. Now, the first nosedive. Oh yeah, there's quite a bit of malt on that. The second nosedive is picking up a little bit of a hop, a little bit of a hop tinge. Well, first swig. Well, it's malty. There is some hop to it, but it's got a good hop. It's a little bit more hops than malt. Let's have another swig. Well, it is, it's pallet to the very end, but it's not the Octoberfest beers I remember from Germany. Of course, I had those while I was in Munich, so I'm sure that the atmosphere and the whole tewa of being there affected my memories and my taste memories. But it just, I would say it just meets expectations. So, does. Oh, urban south brewing companies, Oktoberfest, Martsen, Lagermeet expectations. It just does, yes. Yeah, it's not exceptional, but it'll pass. I'm the old grower, hoping all of your beers meet expectations. I'm Peter France, the old grower. Until next time.
