My name is Christian Blanco and today you are here with East Texas Adventures. On today's episode of East Texas Adventures, we're going to be at the Fortney House here in Nacodotius, Texas. The Fortney House is owned by Brad Fortney, a former Stephen Fawcettian State University, L In 1996, I expanded to Austin. So we had two stores. After 22 years, I decided to just go back to one store, which I always intended to do. Throughout the house, there are many different rooms, both upstairs and downstairs, that have a diversity of interesting collectibles. Each room has a distinct theme or assortment based upon the items for sale. Every room is filled wall to wall with weird and interesting things to purchase. Whether you want to collect a certain aesthetic or have someone in your life you would Well, I'm constantly trying to think of the right definition. It's an organized lack of focus. We carry a huge variety of things because I have so many interests. From gifts to home furnishings. Not only is there items to decorate the interior of your house, but there are also items to collect to decorate the exterior of your home, such as wind chimes, statues of various animals and figures, and even some outdoor seating. My name is Ashley Riley and I enjoy the art scene here in Nacodotus. I love going to shows. I love the music scene here as well. And I love supporting local businesses. The Fortney House is open seven days a week making this a great stop whether you're just visiting Nacodotus or want to find out or make this city so unique. I really love the eclectic style of everything, all the different types of statues and artifacts all over the style of the home. I just think it'so different. We don't really have anything here in Nacodotus that kind of compares to that. It's almost like a haunted house muse From my own experience, this is an amazing place to visit and to look around at. The atmosphere is very welcoming and has such a unique layout. The model Titanic boat is very intriguing as I've never seen anything All of the model airplanes that are hung up are also very compelling as well. We get a blend I think that's pretty much equal between students, tourists and Nacodotus residents. So, it's important that we appeal to the whole range of customers. I would describe it as a muse There'several different categories of art. There's even an area that has a bunch of different wind chimes and stuff I just describe it as an eclectic collection. If you live in Nacodotus, you're definitely missing out on a great local experience that is Mr. Forney does live nearby and is here every day, but to make sure that the house is open, look them up online and then call ahead of time to make sure that he's here. I hope you get to experience this great Forney House experience as it is one of the most hidden gems here in East Texas. For East Texas Adventures, thank you so much for tuning in. My name is Christian Blanco and Axham Jax.
