I recently took a step back in my professional career to venture out on my own, in something I have always wanted to attempt: owning my own business and working with my hands to create a long-lasting and beautiful product. I feel that the older generation in my trade industry (automotive) regrets the time that they have poured in and wishes they had chose a different path; a path that would have allowed more creativity, individualism, and most importantly, more time with family. I refuse to be a bitter man at any point of my life and I have always loved spending time with my dog, Parker. My start-up is called Parker & Briggs: literally, my dog and me. With this business we hope to design and build wood and metal functional works of art that will last for years to come. We enjoy being creative and working with the end user to fine tune a piece to his or her exact specifications.
