Live from the Fox 5 Studio of an Atlanta, you're watching Good Day Extra. Well, some high tech tableware is on display at the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center. It's the site of the 12th annual Dining by Design fundraiser to benefit AIDS victims. The three-day event ends tonight with a black-tied dinner celebration. Fox 5'stacy Elgin is there and joins us right now. Hey there. That's right. It is really a spectacular event. Never seen anything quite And I've been to these before and I will say every year seems to just get better and better. Check out this table. It's called, let'see, Life is Rough, I guess. And look at the walls. It's just beautiful. The curtains, all these little doggy pictures. If you're a doggy lover, you're probably going to want to sit here. And even the milk bones have rhinestones on them. They've got little necklaces with little doggy bone collars and little chokers. They're so cute. I just, okay, I'm a big dog lover and that's probably one of my favorite. But now we're going to go over here to another table. And this one's interesting because this rug back here is actually 30 feet by 9 feet. That's a huge rug. It's the size of a gallery rug. And they tell me that they built this whole design around this rug. That's right. It was the inspiration for the whole design. And this year we wanted to do something over the top. So we got Michael Hibachi to do the design for us. And as you can see, it is definitely over the top. It's antique Persian rug. And this is Jason Moatar, by the way. And he's the one that kind of created, did you create the idea or did Michael? The rug was the inspiration, but Michael created the idea. All the way around a rug. Hey, Michael. Hi. Thank you for getting up early this morning. I know you're going to have a late night. How did you do this around a rug? I mean, Well, when Jason Moatar from Moatar Rugs asked me to design their space, I was very excited, but I just knew that I had to use a rug in a very unconventional way. And I thought about creating this really dramatic form and skinning it with the rug and really making that the focal point. And as you can see, it starts at the top, goes down the back, across the seat, across the floor and up the other side, and really showcases it amazingly, I think. That's what I find so fascinating that I don't even know. I guess you had to build this whole bench around this rug. Definitely. You created the form based on the actual size of the rug. And you said it's okay if someone spills red wine on it. That's right. It's antique rug. It's 100 years old and it just has so much character. We're going to see how functional this table is. Okay, so we're going to have a seat. But it's wool, so it can be easily cleaned. Okay, so, Can you pass the potatoes, please? Oh, there's no food yet. Not yet. Tonight's the big feast. We had a great team. We had Michael Quartz provide all the mill work and build the piece. We have a great piece from Todd Murphy, who is our most famous artist from Atlanta. And I love all the real flowers and greenery. Okay, I hope the event goes very well. And I will tell you, Tsuchita and Jeff, it is really stunning here. I just wish I had an ounce of this talent to be able to decorate my table Well, I'm sure you've got some good ideas now. I had a great team. Pardon me, Tsuchita? I'm sure you've gotten some good ideas at least now. I have. Now I just need some money. Maybe I should have a fundraiser for that. You need one to buy that big rug thing. Thank you. That's pretty cool. All right, thanks a bunch, Stacy. Thank you.
