Collecting is how we preserve memory. Objects endure. And how we interpret and understand them is how we learn about the past. Antiques we imagine became our theme because were looking to reimagine our old show, but were also looking to bring in some items that would not be associated with typical antique shows. I collect a lot of things from Victorian era to the 1980s and I Standing next to my friend Winter here is a 19th century limestone statue. This is a teabox from England from 1780 and it's made of apple wood and it's in the shape of an apple. These wonderful pair of Staffordshire dogs. They're a pair of spaniels on wonderful cushion bases with tassels. They date to 1825. They're beautifully modeled and beautifully painted. This was probably made by Thomas Chippendale. There's an identical table, nearly identical table I should say, that is in Nostal Priory in England. When I say antique I'mostly speaking of rugs pre-1920, actually pre-World War I, so pre-1915. The Swickley show is proving to be a very elegant show. I'm pleased that I've been invited to exhibit here with a group of very professional exhibitors. It's very exciting to be partnering with the antique council to present this year'swickley show. All of the funds that we raise will be donated to the causes of children of Western Pennsylvania. We typically disperse about $100,000 a year. We found the perfect partner with the antique council who works with a select n And we thought that Western Pennsylvania was a ripe area to showcase these wonderful vendors. I've enjoyed being here at this point and look forward to coming back in the future.
