Our ongoing education in the furniture industry keeps us abreast of all the latest techniques of furniture repair, furniture finishing and reupholstering. Our team of restoration experts is made up of knowledgeable men and women who have a lifetime of experience in all aspects of furniture restoration, including the understanding of wood characteristics, color, construction techniques and finishes. Yeah, Mikey Hood stopped by Grimes Interiors in McKees Rocks to find out about their winning attitude and customer service that keeps customers coming back. Murphy building, Grimes Exteriors has been located in McKees Rocks for 30 years. And even through COVID-19, one thing remains the same. We really focus on the quality and the customer service, the old-style customer service. And restoration is what they do best. We can take something that's 100 years old, a-pulstered, remove all the materials off it. And the springs have the frame repaired in our wood shop, then touched up or possibly refinished the wood frame and then back upstairs to our poultry shop for the complete respringing, repatting and upholstery. Everything is done in-house. Customers bring in tables, desks, antique furniture, heirlooms, and they also see plenty of. . . Usually chairs, like dining room chairs, they're usually coming in to get repaired and then possibly like a lacquer touch-up if they get real sticky or g They'll get stripped on a top, color matched and finished and made to look new again. Duane says his customers don't want to throw away a quality-made item just because it's old or needs to be repaired.
