So Moe, tell me about Gene Sains. Well Gene's family founded his company in the 1930s and over the years it's just been a small traditional re-upholstery shop. In the 1980s and 1990s Gene reinvented the company and became the largest re-upholstering concern on the Eastern Seaboard. The problem we have today is cheap furniture that's the 599 sofa without any payments is destroying the market. Inferior materials for craftsmanship does not make this furniture worthy of being re-upholstered. So we've reinvented our company as you can see around and we invested in training our upholsters to become master upholsters. People that can design, build, sew, cut every aspect of the upholstery. Our youngest has been 20 years, our oldest means 32 years I've been doing this. So why should I have my furniture re-upholstered? Well what we know is that over 300 furniture factories have gone out of business in the last 10 years. Which means there's a lack of styling in the marketplace. We can affordably make a new custom sofa for you in 6 to 8 weeks into your particular style and to fit your body type, your room. We can even design a sofa to be made in pieces to be reassembled inside your townhouse or your condomini So you've also done furniture for the movie business that's been coming to Pittsburgh? Absolutely. Absolutely. The movie Unstoppable needed a scene done for a passenger car compartment and we helped them design and build that for their set. So over the last 10, 15 years it's just about every movie that's been in the city of Pittsburgh that we've done something for. How long does it take to have furniture re-upholstered? It usually takes 4 to 6 weeks and the reason is we have totally strip that piece of furniture down to this bare frame. And then our frame shop gets it, rebuilds the frame, then it has to be re-sprung and re-upholstered. Basically, we're spending twice the amount of labor that we would for making a new piece of furniture.
