You know, it's almost s Reporter Brian Mainz tells us how one area woman is blending her Peruvian heritage and a love of community to serve cold, sweet treats in Sims Township. I knew I appreciated them and I knew that I loved them, but now I'm going to make sure to tell them that I love them when I see them again. Roxanna Turner said she has spent weeks preparing to Greek customers and safely reopen her Minchi's frozen yogurt location at Harper Station. It was in my home office drawing the return plan and saying, gosh, I missed my guests. And when I tell them now and they are so happy that Minchi's reopened, I know that they are happy. Turner said what initially drew her to open her Minchi store in February 2016 was the shop offered a perfect blend of her entrepreneurial passion and heritage. I was born in Peru and I came to the United States upon marriage to my lovely husband, Paul Turner. Turner said she brought her Peruvian mindset surrounding food with her when she immigrated to the United States. Outward people who believe that food has to be honored and has to be enjoyed in a community where family and friends are present, where you can enjoy a nice conversation with the people that you love. She said after earning her bachelor's and MBA degrees here in Ohio, she applied that Peruvian dining philosophy in selecting the Minchi's franchise for her first small business. I decided to open Minchi's when I thought it was time that I fulfilled my dream of opening my own business as well as putting my money where my mouth is. And though some things that Minchi's have changed since reopening last week, such as the removal of indoor seating, Turner said the spirit of her shop remains the same. Even when we are not sitting, we can talk, we can look at each other's eyes and we can flow in a manner that is organic to what we do.
