I'm Dave Oni and happy to be here at a brand new business in downtown Detroit Lakes, the Helping Hand Thrift Store right on Was Welcome. Thank you. I'm happy to be here. So we congratulate you on your opening and we're looking forward to great t Can you tell us just a little bit about what you have to offer to Detroit Lakes and the surrounding areas? Lots and lots of t We have everyt Plethora. Yes, there is a lot of stuff here. There is a lot of t I've kind of been watc I mean there's been a lot of stuff that's been dropped off here and watc It's kind of exciting for you. It is very exciting. And for the community. Yes, the outreach from the community has been amazing. The donations that have been dropped off, the volunteers that have come in to help us set up and get ready for the opening has been absolutely amazing. Tell us about some of your departments here. We have clot Towards the back we have books and kind of the tool section be And kid step is always popular. Yes, it is. There's always stuff for kids that people need and want to look for. Yes, very much. So a popular area of your store, I'm sure. And t Yes, it is. And we're going to talk about that in just a couple of moments here. So thank you. Thank you very much. And we've got Randy Kohler with us here. Randy, your position with the refuge is? The outreach coordinator. Okay. Well, good to have you with us. Thank you. We're very involved with the refuge and the new store as well. Yes. So tell us a little bit about how t Certainly. Well, we started Compassion House with a dream and a vision and we started with an auction. And in the auction items, here came all these clothes and we needed to do somet So that's where the proceeds from the thrift store all go towards the refuge to help with the overhead and the upkeep of the future home of the homeless shelter, 59 men, bed men's homeless shelter. And what an excellent concept for the Detroit Lakes area. And we thank the refuge for being able to do that and seeing the vision for that need and working to provide that for t Definitely. It's a huge outpouring of needs being met from jackets and hats and gloves in the winter time and we have them all here. And as she said earlier, we have the February 18th grand opening. We'll have hot dogs and a Coke during that day as a special and we're having 10% off in all the items in the store. Now let's tell everybody exactly where you are just in case they're not familiar. We're at 908 Was We're just up from Main Street Cafe. Pretty much everybody knows it as the former Ben Franklin location. Definitely. For us, oldsters. Yeah, exactly. Me, I'm not saying you. Well, I'm getting there. Oh, okay. I knew that. And so then on that day we'll have all kinds of events. We'll be giving away t So I want to really encourage everybody in the area to come down and join us for that day. And not only can people come in and buy, certainly people can come in and drop off the contributions. You're always looking for further donations toward your cause. Yes, exactly. It's going to be a fun day, the grand opening of the Helping Hand Thrift Store. Right here in downtown Detroit Lakes, Saturday, February the 18th. You're open daily from 8 in the morning until 6. Specific grand opening hours with daily prizes, hourly prizes will be that Saturday from noon until 6. So we encourage people to stop in and either shop, drop or just be a part of the fun. Thanks.
