Music was the most powerful force in my life as a youngster, I t When I was a very young girl, music allowed me to express myself in a way that I couldn't express myself in words, and it allowed me to access my deepest feelings and my innermost self. My job as a musician is to tell the audience something more about what it means to be here I am now in San Francisco, a city that embraces culture and the arts and the avant-garde, embraces diversity. There's no place where I would rather be making my life and making music. 23 years later, it'still a thrill.
