Today retailer Dollar Tree officially announced that it has acquired 170 recently closed 99 cents only stores, including many of them here in Southern California. Dollar Tree, Inc. says the deal has been approved by a federal bankruptcy court allowing them to buy 99 cents only locations in California, Arizona, Nevada and Texas, but the vast majority here in Southern California. Dollar Tree says the locations could reopen as early as this fall, but Dollar Tree has recently faced financial trouble of its own. Early this year Dollar Tree announced they were closing a thousand locations of their stores.
