Sheila's Sweets

It's very unique in its flavor. We go through it a lot so it's fresh. It's just really good. Sheila Bivins has come a long way, opening up Sheila'sweet's cafe and candy shop on Indian school near Wyoming. In the beginning I started making my caramel candy. My grandma showed me how to make it when I was a teenager. So I made it a little bit here and there at Christmas time. But now it's a full time operation. She runs with her husband Gerald, the candy wrapping machine pro. We started with the caramel candy. I developed a recipe to make the sauce, which comes in a jar. Of course there's also caramel apples and caramel corn, and you can bet you'll see caramel throughout the cafe's menu. How about some carrot cake with caramel cream cheese frosting? Mmm yeah, that's good. Or a turtle brownie with Sheila's caramel sauce. Sheila'son Joseph runs the kitchen he's cooking up much more than just the sweet treats. I try to take traditional food from around the world and then turn them into sandwiches. Make the prime rib steak sandwich, the ABCLT, that's avocado bacon chicken lettuce tomato, or the pulled pork with green chili slaw. I don't know if this one's going to be a camera friendly food. But hands down, the best thing on the menu has got to be the caramel bacon. He just brought me caramel bacon. I might just be in heaven. Hot and sweet, I love it. And that's this week's Best Bites.
