Frankie'sweet shop may have started out as make believe, but it has grown into something unbelievable. Frankie Parkhurst is only eight years old, but she's been baking since age three and she's putting those skills to good use, helping others. Back up. Ben the kitten has got a pretty sweet life. His own clubhouse to play in. Can I hold him? Yes. And an eight year old girl. You. I saw him and I thought he was really cute. Who loves him? He's tan. And he's tiny in the kitchen, which means she'll stay with me for a while. Frankie Parkhurst recently adopted Ben. Yeah, absolutely. You could say he's her sweet reward. So you cook sugar and corn syrup on the stove for a little bit. When she was just six, Parkhurst started Frankie'sweet shop and make brownies, marshmallows, cupcakes, cakes, cookies, all alongside her mom, Lynn. Definitely her most well known is her homemade marshmallows. Sprinkles cr It kind of tastes It is Now she takes orders and gets donations for her creations that all go to Waukesha's H Do Over a thousand. Oh my goodness. You've got to be pretty proud of that. Thank you. Thank you for your commitment to countless years. Her dedication earned her the Emma's Inspiration Award at the HAWS Gala this month, named for another eight year old, Emma Mertens, whose love of dogs went viral before she passed away from brain cancer in 2019. She's got a fire, she loves to do it. She's kind, she's compassionate. And so for her to be able to just do this, it's raw, it's real. Which leads us back to Ben. When she donates, Frankie hangs out with cats at HAWS. Lynn says it was love at first sight. I think it was a win-win for everybody. Passion, the key ingredient in Frankie's recipe for success. I just think it was pure joy for her to be able to give and to not get anything back. The Frankie's mom says that she's actually raised closer to $1,500. Oh my gosh, that's amazing. It's a lot of money for an eight year old. So sweet, the way she tells about the ingredients. I know it. And that was a perfect story for you, with the kitty. Yeah, baking kitties, it's right up my alley. I will say though, the Facebook page is private just so they can kind of keep the orders manageable for Frankie. So that all makes sense.
