Fondant: I specialize in fondant cakes, I really love working with it and it gives such an elegant/clean look to cakes. I make my fondant from scratch; my fondant is made from 3 ingredients: Marshmallows, water, and powder sugar. So if you like marshmallows, you are going to LOVE the taste of my fondant! (see contact details above) Ordering policy: • All quotes are honored for 10 days • Pricing is subject to change without notice (If you have received a quote, and it’s within the 10 days quote will be honored) • Orders must be finalized at least 14 days before event if available, more notice is appreciated. • 50% deposit is required 24 hours after invoice is sent, 50% balance is due on event date. ***Weddings-balance must be paid in full 1 week before event date*** • Order/availability is not guaranteed without deposit and invoice. • $10.00 standard delivery/set up fee and $1.00 per mile. Currently only delivering to North San Diego areas. • ALL 3 tiered or more cakes must be delivered. 3D cake may need only delivery too. Delivery/set up fee does apply. Cancelations: Mrs. Frakes’s Cakes must be notified at least 5 days in advance for full deposit refund. Notice of cancelation after 5 days, deposit will be not be refunded. FAQ Where are you located? Mrs. Frakes Cakes is located in Vista, California and service all North County San Diego. What are your hours? Since we have a in-home business, we do not have standard business hours. All consultations, pick-ups, cash deposits are by appointment only. What are your payment methods? We accept cash and PayPal. What kinds of baked goods do you sell? We specialize in custom cakes, cupcakes, cookies and rice krispy treats. What is your allergy information? We are not a nut-free bakery; all of our baked goods are prepared on premise. Are any of your products sugar-free? No. Do you deliver? Yes. Delivery surcharges are $10.00 and $1.00 for every mile. Delivery must be arranged at time of order. How far in advance should I place my order? Due to the high volume of requests for our cakes, we must have a minimum of 2 weeks notice for any custom order. At least 3-4 weeks is preferable. For weddings, you should plan to order your cake at least 3 months in advance. As a general rule, you can never order too early! But what if I need a cake tomorrow? Unfortunately, all orders are "made to order". We do not stock cakes at this time. I’m getting married/throwing a big party. Can I come in for a cake consultation? Absolutely, for parties of ~60 attendees or more. We schedule consultations on Tuesdays between 9:00am pm and 6:00 pm. Please call 760-994-7095 or message to make an appointment. All consultations are at Mrs. Frakes Cakes location in Vista. How should I store my cake? Cakes iced in fondant or with fondant decorations should NOT be refrigerated! The fondant will melt. Cakes iced in buttercream do not need refrigeration if they are to be served the same day; otherwise, refrigerate and then serve at room temperature. Cupcakes with cream cheese whipped frosting or fresh fruit must be refrigerated. What is the minimum order for custom cupcakes? 2 dozen I would like a cake with a picture on it. Can you do that? Yes. With at least two week advance notice, please send us the image in the highest resolution possible to our e-mail [email protected]. Edible picture typically cost $15.00 and up, depending on images and size. Will you mail some cookies to me? At this time we do not ship our products. I have a business and want to use your cookies for advertising. Do you offer wholesale? Yes! Please contact Mrs. Frakes Cakes for wholesale pricing and information. 10 dozen minimum. Terms 1. The initial 50% deposit reserves the date of your event and is non-refundable after 5 days from your event date. 2. The final date for any changes of size, flavors, or design is 2 weeks prior to the event. Any changes requested after this date cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to additional charges. 3. Once the cake is delivered to the location and set up on an appropriately stable table or base in a cool, dry room (or refrigerator, if indicated), we are not responsible for any damages that may incur. If you decide to pick up and set up the cake or any other Mrs. Frakes Cakes product, you assume all liability and responsibility for the condition of the cake or product once it leaves Mrs. Frakes Cakes possession. You are responsible for providing appropriate and secure transportation. 4. There will be charges of $5.00 for every 15 minutes if we have to wait at a location for any reason to set up. 5. Our products may contain or come into contact with milk, wheat, nuts, soy, and other allergens. You agree to notify your guests of this risk and hold us harmless for allergic reactions.
