Cupcake Jones

My name is Lisa Watson. I am the owner at Cupcake Jones in Portland, Oregon. Cupcakes, and only cupcakes. We make a variety of cupcakes every day. We have lots of different flavors all the time, but what we do is just cupcakes. Our red velvet by far is our best seller. It always has been since the day we opened. Everything that you get from Cupcake Jones is made from scratch. We make little cookies, candied rose petals, so all those garnishes on top of our cupcakes were also made here, and of course all the cakes and icings and fillings as well, so everything's made right in our bakery. One of the things that we love to get is berries from the farmers markets. We get a lot of really great reviews about not only our cupcakes, of course, but about our service. I think because we have so much fun working together, it's really important for us to connect a lot with our customers. People love to come into a place that they'regular and see their photo on the wall. So we have a whole wall filled with photos of our regular customers. So a lot of people have us deliver cupcakes to Portland residents for their birthdays. We also do a lot of weddings. When we signed up for Google Places originally, we saw the opportunity to do a special on the website. So the first month we did a free delivery special. We probably doubled our deliveries the month that we did it. We have a regular benefit day here where we donate a percentage of our sales to a different nonprofit each time, and it's a way for us to reach out to the community and support them while they're supporting us. Cupcake Jones is really about going back to childhood and really having something that you can connect with. A food that you probably ate when you were young.
