Life is too short to eat dry cake!
We are getting you in the spirit of the season with some sweet treats and savory delights and one local teen is serving these mouthwatering treats but also using her sales to give back to others. We are so excited to have Noelle Harris, the creator and baker of the Bakery Barn here in the kitchen sponsored by Morpher Lesry, modeling to tell us all about her business. And if you're looking at Noelle and thinking Noelle Harris, that name sounds familiar, the face looks familiar, you've watched her grow up because she is the daughter of our own Steve Harris. Noelle, it is so good to see you. Yes, thanks for having me. So happy to have you. You have created something really special and unique in the Bakery Barn. How long have you been baking and how did you get into this? So I've been baking since I was little. I remember being two and being with my mom in the kitchen on a step stool making cookies. And I've just been really inspired by my great grandma because she grew up with the view that baking, you're sharing your love whenever you're baking and making food for people. That is so special. You're talking about generations of your family and you are now paying it forward to other families. We'll get into that in a moment. What did you bring with you today? Okay, so I brought our mini cakes, which is our December menu. We have our peppermint bark. It's a dark chocolate cake with peppermint frosting. And then we have our hot chocolate infused cake. We have our little Debbie's Christmas tree cake and we have our red velvet Grinch cake. So how does this work? How can people buy your products? So we go onto our website and then you fill out a simple Google form. And then once you fill that out, we'll have the order confirmation sent to you. And we'll just have your order right here ready in our Bakery Barn cabinet. And you'll come up to the door and you'll pick it up and you'll be right here in the little cabinet. This is the most adorable thing that I've ever seen, but what makes it so special? And at just 16 years old, this girl decided, I'm not going to keep all the profits for myself. You are helping other people. What are you doing in the non-profit world? Yes, so every month I find a new place to donate to. So last month I did my church faith chapel and some of our donations we gave to them so they could help a girl get a car for missions trips. And this month I am doing the Angel Tree with the Salvation Army. I have a lot of friends over at the O'Fallon Salvation Army and they're finding gifts for kids that can't afford gifts or don't have the opportunity to get those. And I just think it's a really beautiful thing. Right now we have a 15-year-old girl and a 4-year-old girl. And I would Do you have a tissue because now I'm going to start crying. Oh my goodness. Finally as we wrap this up, you have a big event this weekend. I do. I'm in Salem, Missouri this weekend on Sunday at the Christmas from Home craft fair. So come on by and see me. And if you'd Noelle Harris with the Bakery Barn. You can find the Bakery Barn on Instagram at the. bakery. barn. I am getting emotional over here. 2025 or by scanning the QR code on your screen. We have Steve in studio. Steve, how are you doing? Are you proud? I am proud. Oh my gosh. Noelle, congratulations. Thank you so much. Oh my gosh, Leah.
