On a bright Sunday afternoon, my cupcake world held its grand opening with live music and entertainment. Lines of hungry people waited outside for a chance to taste a cupcake or a cup of gelato on the house. Owner and founder Iris Casanova explains how she got inspired to open her very own cafe here in Coral Gables. Actually, we started the business about six years ago and my daughter loved cupcakes at the time and she inspired me to create them just for her birthday and her friends. Everybody started loving them and here we are. I love all things French for whatever reason so I wanted to get something that was French inspired and at the same time my very favorite color is pink so everything had to be pink and white stripes and of course we added the chandeliers to give it that French look. This colorful and French inspired cafe not only serves the best cupcakes and gelato but also serves breakfast and lunch every day. The ambiance is great. I really only had the opportunity to have one flavor and it was delicious. It was the Nutella cupcake. Coming in here made me feel I was just in a completely different place and it was very cozy and very enjoyable. Oh my gosh, I love the cupcakes. I love cupcakes and this is great. It's walking distance from my apartment so I'm going to be here pretty often. Oh, the gelato was really good. I got the Flamingo gelato which I got because it was vegan and gluten free which are both pretty important to me. But it's not just the beautiful interior and creative menu that makes my cupcake world special. It's the heart put into every detail of the experience. Went through quite a few batches before we came up with what we thought was absolutely perfect. It's the passion that you put into it that I really think makes a difference.
