This store has approximately just over 300 jobs that we hired. Tonight'sacramento celebrates the grand opening of a new RC Willy furniture store. It's in the new Delta Shores shopping center near I-5 in Cos The store is the latest retailer bringing new jobs to South Sacramento. From the smallest square foot storefront still under construction to the major anchor tenants, the region's newest shopping mall is bringing thousands of new jobs to South Sacramento. We've hired a tremendous amount of people that live very, very close to the store. RC Willy is the newest anchor tenant to open up in Delta Shores. 95% of the people who work in this store live in this community. And there's more to come. Next Monday, a new I-Max movie theater is opening. Once fully built, the 147-acre retail center will feature more than a million square feet of retail and commercial space. This whole complex is going to be great for this area. My name is Willy. I figure I can work for RC Willy. New hires I live right down the street 10 minutes away. And man, to work this clothes at a beautiful company But some are concerned the new stores may siphon sales from existing retail outlets. The city of El Grove is just south of the new mall and it estimates losing nearly $2 million a year in sales tax revenue when the city's own residents shop outside the city limits. They don't generally care about city boundaries. So they're going to go where it's most convenient. But Sacramento is counting on the mall to be a major economic driver for the area in the decades to come. We're very comfortable that we'll be able to help this whole development in this whole area. A huge store, huge. More than 95,000 people live within three miles of the new mall in what had been one of the largest undeveloped parcels in South Sacramento. Now, future plans call for building 4900 residential units right nearby.
