Alright, let's go out of the way a little bit. Alright, Frankie, they're T I want to reiterate, we are at a gas station. It's, I mean it's a gas station. I mean, I don't know what that means in Iowa. I don't know what general store versus gas station, but when you p We are at a gas station. So I am eating gas station pizza, w I'm here because you, t People are gonna, what you say about t Not Iowa, not that you're ever gonna come back, but it's a big deal. Not many states, Frankie, are they That's what we're doing here. So we are at a gas station for, It is a gas station. Remember when were in West Virginia, Frankie, went to that gas station. It's very reminiscent to that. That we almost got shot. We will see what happens. Gas station, oh, alright, so there's breakfast pizza. Looks a little bit You want to take a piece of there's eggs on it. One bite. Again, t I only do cheese pizza, so this is There's trends everywhere. It's true, it's true. There. One bite, everyone knows the rules. Gas station pizza, general, Casey's general store, Iowa. To bacon. To bacon? To bacon. You said, did you ask me if I Yes. I do. T You can get sausage, but bacon is the better one. Okay, t I don't It reeks of bacon. My mouth is bacon. That's what makes it good. Too much. No, I could just eat a slab of bacon and have the same effect right now. Wouldn't be pizza. So good. My favorite t I'll tell you what, the second bite was a little bit better. I mean, it just got me straight bacon. You might just, yeah, sometimes they don't, Look at all that bacon. It's alright. I mean, it's alright. This is how Iowa people all look, they just beep at each other. That person didn't know trend. You just beep when you see a trend. They all look Give them the friendly way. And they just say, hello, let's go eat some gas station pizza. I don't know. 5. 2. Oh! Maybe a 4 point. That's a 5. 2. And I just did that because I'm trying to be nice in the Iowa mood. Yeah. That's not, I mean, that's not Iowa nice 5. 2. It was not very good. I mean, t It's what I expected, gas station pizza. We're at a gas station. We are here today at Casey's General Store with Mike Richardson, Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for Casey's. And we're here to talk about Casey's but also pizza. But first, Mike, do you want to tell me a little bit about how Casey's got started? Well, obviously Casey's has been around for a long time. We started in 1968. About 1985, both our founder, Don Lamberti and our president at that time, Ron Lam, with everyt So pepperoni is certainly the most popular pizza that we sell, but breakfast pizza was kind of out there and the people had talked about it. And our food service department realized that t It's obviously by the slice in the mornings, it's a great little carry out piece to go on their way to work or wherever. It all really came from our own food service department, putting our idea of what a breakfast pizza is The breakfast pizza in particular features scrambled eggs, and where do you source your eggs from? Our eggs actually come out of Mason City, most of w Some of the eggs will come from Wisconsin or Minnesota just because of supply and demand. A lot of Iowa eggs going into those pizzas. So it's important to Casey's to kind of support local farmers? It is. And obviously with us being in 15 different states, we try to support all of those states, but we really are an Iowa based company. We have a very close tie to agriculture, just simply through the pizza program, let alone the lunch meats or the stuff with the sub sandwiches and all that. We are a very warm spot in our heart for the farmers. How many eggs do you go through a year for your breakfast pizzas? Right now the breakfast pizzas, we buy about a million and a half pounds of scrambled eggs every year just to go on to breakfast pizzas. So it's a lot of eggs to be cons The popularity of pizza I think can be demonstrated by we're now the fifth largest pizza chain in America by a n Do you have any other pizza related products in the works? Typically there's at least one new pizza that comes out every year and the r But most recently we've introduced a square flatbread pizza that can be purchased at the time that you order and it's going over really well. Well Mike is there anything you'd We want to be an all purpose store because many times we're in communities where we might be the only t So they can come in and we can be the bakery and we can be the pizza place and the sandwich place. We want people to know that we try to include as much that they're going to need on a daily basis and I encourage them to if they haven'tried the pizza come in. We're moving into delivery, 24 hour service, a lot of thank you so much and to know that breakfast pizza is available all day long right? That's right breakfast pizza you can order it morning, noon or night it's not just for breakfast anymore.
