Just over a mile away, another Worcester gem, Holy Canole, which has been satiating sweet lovers in Worcester for 17 years. The store features a wide variety of baked goods and what'said to be the largest selection of Canoles on the East Coast. Manager Debbie Tully. We currently have about 55 different flavors. We do rotate them out seasonally through the year. So we usually have anywhere from 10 to 12 different flavors at a time. We all know Canoles as those delectable fried shells filled with a sweet ricotta based filling. At Holy Canole, the ricotta might be enhanced by, for example, pistachios, peanut butter, p It's called the Dynamite Stick. It's a little bit different than a traditional Canole. It has a plain Canole filling with caramel in it and we dip it in chocolate and roll it in butter crunch and we have people come from all over specifically for that one item. Tully says the Dynamite Stick is their signature pastry and that nobody should even think about duplicating the recipe, mind you. We do have a pat on it, so you cannot get it anywhere else other than Holy Canole. The staff here knows how to handle customers plagued with guilt. For one thing, they offer half-sized Canoles to help ease the shame of death. It's funny that people do mention things about feeling guilty, but the most common quote I hear all the time when people come in is, I'll take one of every day, multiple times a day.
