Sweet T's

Sweet teas, the food at Sweet Teas I think is going to end up landing somewhere between what we do at Smoke and Spice and what Ryan did at Mamo Bistro. You're going to find that some of the menu items seem very refined, kind of ala mamo bistro, yet they'relatable products that everybody's heard of just Everyone knows what a rib is or what a piece of chicken is and what a chicken wing is. So we had that going for us at Smoke and Spice. Sure, there are going to be a few ingredients that people maybe have never heard before, dishes they've never tried before, and they're going to be prepared in a refined way that's almost ala hotkrizin, fancy schmancy joint, but it'still going to be done in an accessible way so that people can experience these things maybe for the first time, but it will still feel familiar. Certainly it's the same space and people will recognize that this was Smoke and Spice in some ways, but by the same token we decided to get a little silly, if you will. We decided to just do things that made us laugh. We actually exed out a couple of things that were slated to happen here because they were maybe a little too silly and only suitable for our garage, but some of the murals are fun. I think the kids will get a kick out of Godzilla and Pac-Man. The adults will get a kick out of pop culture figures and reservoir dogs. We just wanted it to be a little bit lighter, not so earthy and traditional or dark Some things are never going to change, but there's going to be places on the menu where Ryan gets to really have a lot of fun. We've got one section on the menu specifically called Omae Nola, Nola meaning New Orleans, Louisiana. In that little corner of the menu which is going to change periodically, Ryan's going to be able to play. He's going to be able to have a lot of fun. We wanted the atmosphere to feel that way too.
