Anchor Coffee House

Hi, Josie Montalione here from Team Monty. Doing an episode with a local coffee house anchor, Coffee House. I have Kyle Bondi here, who's one of the owners, who's going to give us a little bit of information on how he got started in the business and what they have to offer. Yeah, so I'm Kyle Bondi. I'm one of the three owners that make up the ownership team here at Anchor. My wife and I started the company a little over five years ago. We just had a farmers market booth downtown for a couple s It's going to be five years in January since we opened up this location. This location houses not only our full breakfast and lunch menu, but more of our catering-focused stuff. We do all of our catering out of here for our corporate accounts. And then our Walkerville location we recently opened almost a year and a half ago. And that one is more of our bakery. And we do have a breakfast and lunch menu, but more focus on baked goods. And just a question as to what inspired you to start in this business and how that all came about for you? Yeah, I mean, And my wife and I, before we even got married, we both had this kind of common dream that we wanted to open a coffee shop one day. And so shortly after we got married, it went from, My wife had taken business and in university for a year and, And we both kind of went into different industries. And, And we both, the dream never went away. So were crazy enough to quit our jobs by an existing cafe that was kind of failing. And yeah, just went for it. We just kind of j So Kyle, just a question as to what you have new coming up for this fall for your customers and clients that are coming into your coffee shop? Yeah. So for like, kind of more of a seasonal feature, we're doing a brown sugar spice latte, which was kind of our answer to everything p We wanted to do something with those kind of festive kind of flavors and those like really seasonal kind of spice notes, but not the typical p So we've actually come up with a custom spice blend that we use fresh ground spices and make. And it's really good. It has like a very kind of nice rich spice to it without being overly sweet because we find a lot of times, And we wanted to avoid that and also keep it true to everything else we do. And we make all of our own sauces and syrups and stuff. So we don't use any spice mixes or any of that. So I'd say that's probably the most seasonal feature we got going on right now. I'm happy to hear that. I know I'll be in this location celebrating a few of those coffee drinks for me. Well, here you have it, a success story from the Anchor Coffee House here in Windsor as it continues to grow. I just want to wish Kyle continuing success and out there for the public to know he does do catering and offers a variety of home baked goods and everything's done with a healthy diet in mind.
