I love drinking coffee. I drink coffee every day. I love the smell of it. I am a registered dietitian and all throughout college I worked at different coffee shops and I loved the atmosphere and environment and my time there. And I worked for a year as a clinical dietitian in the hospital and kind of missed that feeling of different coffee shops and wanted to provide that feeling to other people. I wasn't really too familiar with Wendell at first and my first impression here was just kind of traveling back in time. I fell in love with the area and it kind of reminds me of one of Everyone knows each other's names. We have a lot of different seating areas. Here usually one or two or three people can sit here. The large table, I grew up in a large family and oftentimes we didn't have a lot of places for us to sit. We had to squeeze tables together so I wanted to provide a big table for everyone to sit. Sometimes on a busy Saturday or Friday we get very busy and crowded in here. Oftentimes you'll have someone working on a computer or at the large table by themselves and this is just something that they can grab themselves and put next to them so that if someone wanted to come up and join them, whether This is our pastry case. So we do breakfast items, lunch items, a lot of different pastries. We've got hot paninis, salads for the s We have regular coffee on tap all day, regular and decaf and that coffee was chosen from a few different types of beans. So it's a medi It has some milder coffees and some more bold coffee so it is appealing to kind of people who We've got where the bar is. So our espresso machine where we make the lattes and espressos and that kind of thing. We make a lot of smoothies and mistolatos. I did yes. Just working in different coffee shops, having a lot of experience doing that, trying all of them. I've had everything on the menu and just seeing What is your top selling item? I would say as far as drinks, the cookie butter latte is the first thing that I had on the menu. Before any furniture was in here, I was making those behind the bar so that was something just the smell reminds me of So we're making a cookie butter latte and it starts just the base of syrup, cookie butter syrup. And all of our espresso shots are pulled. Weigh them all to make sure we're getting a good shot of espresso and then we've got regular coffee and decaf as well. And we want it to be in between 18 and 19 grams so we're going to pull this a little bit more. That's a little bit too much so we're just going to take some off there. That's 19 so that's perfect. Then we're going to use this here to tamp it so we're pressing down. Just going to clean off the top a little bit. That's going to go into the machine. Got shot glasses and pull two shots. And we give it a little swirl to mix in there. We make all of our drinks standard with whole milk. We offer non-fat milk, almond milk and soy milk as well. And we're going to take it over here to the ice. Whipped cream. And then it gets topped with caramel drizzle. That's cookie butter latte. I think it's much more than just coffee. It's about a sense of community and that's important to me so just wanted to bring that to other people. I love it. Just being able to talk to people and not have to sit behind a desk is great. People are my passion and I love to do that.
