A coffee shop inside a game shop, where you can enjoy fun board games for free while enjoying a nice cup of joe!
I'm Steve Coker. I'm the co-owner of Battlegrounds Gaming Cafe, a new game and coffee concept in Portland, Oregon. One of the reasons we call it the place Battlegrounds is it's a double pun on competitive head-to-head gaming as well as coffee, obviously. We are partnering with Blue Kangaroo coffee roasters out of Selwood. They have a beautiful product. They've let us brand it with Dungeons & Dragons. We'll have a Dungeon Dark Roast, which adds plus three to your constitution, as well as a Mage's Medi Some fun things We are definitely going to be focusing on having card tournaments for We'll also host Dungeons & Dragons here and hopefully get guild players to come out and play at our store. We have an open gameplay area that will accommodate about 48 seats that people can come in and they can play games with each other. They can pull stuff off of our library. They can bring a game into their own, buy one in the retail shop, and play it back there. It's just a real flexible space. We just want to kind of speak to the community and find out what they want, too. It's just a great community of players and I thought, why don't I combine that newfound passion with a passion that I've always had and do something for myself and for the community.
